Quiet speeching without echo at Crematorium Haskerpoort

At Crematorium Haskerpoort in Oudehaske, customers experienced annoying echo and disruptive reflections during speeches at funeral services. After contacting EASY Noise Control, acoustic specialist Robbert te Loeke visited the location in Friesland for advice and an acoustic measurement.

The survey in the main hall revealed that the reverberation times were too high across multiple speech frequencies. Additionally, the large, high walls caused unpleasant reflections, which were perceived as very disruptive by the speakers.

We recommended a solution that is both functional and aesthetic: installing EASYceiling Direct Combi panels on both large walls. This decorated the walls with high-quality absorbing material and reduced the reverberation times by a third.

In consultation with the client, we opted for white EASYceiling Direct Combi panels measuring 60 x 60 cm, available in different thicknesses. On both walls, three large surfaces have been applied, gradually ascending with the sloped ceiling.

After careful assembly by our technician Gudo, the result has turned out beautifully. More importantly: the customer is very satisfied, both with the aesthetic and acoustic results.

"The result is surprisingly good. It's a night and day difference. Speakers can understand themselves clearly again and no longer have the issue of hearing their own speech," said Arnout de Jong from Crematorium Haskerpoort.
