    The power of sound masking

Do you want to deal with annoying noise and unwanted silences while simultaneously enhancing privacy and concentration? Discover the power of sound masking!

    Why sound masking?

In environments such as open offices, practices, waiting rooms, where conversations can be overheard, sound masking provides the perfect solution.

A sound masking system consists of controllers, speakers, sensors, and software. These work together to create an unobtrusive background noise.

The system masks disruptive noise by generating a pleasant background noise. This noise is tuned to the speech sound level in the room. It is ideal for both too quiet and too loud environments. By masking the sound, concentration ability is improved.

    How does sound masking work?

In environments with low background noise, sounds are quickly heard, such as in open offices. Good acoustics are important, but can lead to too much intelligibility over long distances. Here, a sound masking system provides the solution.

The system generates a non-intrusive noise that is evenly distributed throughout the space. Using sensors and Adaptive Volume Control, the system adjusts to changes in speech volume. The result? A balanced, pleasant acoustics without disruptive noise interference.

Sound masking ensures that our brain no longer perceives the noise. Conversations at a distance are filtered out, allowing us to be less distracted, concentrate better, and save energy.

    When to apply sound masking?

Before applying sound masking, it is crucial to consider the acoustics. The ABC model, which stands for Absorbing, Blocking, and Camouflaging (masking), forms the basis. The ABC model works complementarily and reinforces each other. Sound masking only truly comes into its own in spaces where sound is already well insulated and absorbed, for example, through the use of acoustic panels. It is the icing on the cake for a balanced acoustic environment.
